We first launched Verdant and Bright back in 2004 as a simple niche business offering specialist design and installation services for garden irrigation - e.g. pop-up sprinkler systems for "verdant" lawns, and radio frequency remote-controlled outdoor lighting systems for "bright" evening gardens.

We relaunched in 2019 as Verdant and Bright Garden and Home Ltd. as by then we had bought and converted probate properties for our own rental portfolio and had self-built two brand new properties using surplus garden land that we obtained planning permission for...

...one in Milton Keynes Village and one near Abington Park, Northampton.

As a result of that activity we developed a new trading style: "Oodles...unlocking potential" and launched a new "sister" Company in February 2018 - Oodles Works Ltd. - which now carries out land conversion by getting planning permission for clients who have excess garden space, manages and implements self build projects for clients who want a bespoke home, and designs and builds larger home extensions for discerning clients - mainly in Northampton and the surrounding villages - who want us to help them fulfill the full potential of their property.

Inevitably, we have established lasting relationships with key suppliers of both materials and skilled services - from architectural design and structural engineering right through to building construction and even swimming pool installation - during the years since 2004.

As a result, Verdant and Bright Garden and Home now offer complete ground floor home extensions with either interior remodelling or garden design and construction or both! Often an extension has an impact on an existing garden and it can be quite cost-effective to design and build at least the structure of a new garden at the same time. It can make good economic sense to use the digger and dumper- while on-site for the extension footings - to consider the final levels required for drainage, patios, lawns, deck areas, outdoor kitchens, water features, raised plant beds and to get the "heavy lifting" done whilst our general builders are with you. The garden enhancement features we can offer, like planting. lighting, water features, pop up sprinklers, drip irrigation, built in BBQ's/ "cook outs" or even a Garden Studio or a bespoke Storage Sheds can be postponed until the budget is available to design and install them!

As you will see from the case studies on our website we can do as much or as little as you would like us to and always look to work with you to make your budget go as far as possible.

We always say that "the pain and the destruction are temporary but the benefits are long term". We want you to be able to enjoy your new space - both indoors and outdoors - as soon as possible and hope you will feel it was worth all the effort, stress, and cost. We have been our "own client"! My wife and I know - first hand - what is involved in extending and remodelling a home and garden. It is a huge commitment and a lot to live through...in the short term...but we replaced a hardly used conservatory that came with the house we downsized to with a new open plan living/media room extension that works hand in glove with the outdoor space and we...and our grandsons...love it!
